Ways to Earn Credit

LOOK AT ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN EARN CREDIT AT CREIGHTON.

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. We know that. That’s why the College of Professional Studies at Creighton University considers awarding you credit for prior learning. We’ll work with you individually to identify what counts for credit and help you build your Prior Learning Passport.

We consider the following ways to earn credit:

Transfer Credits

We’ll help identify how many of your earned credits will transfer. Typically, we honor transfer credits from other accredited institutions of higher education if you earned a grade “C” or better.

Credit by Examination

You can demonstrate learning objectives and gain credit through standardized national exams, such as CLEP, DSST, FLATS, AP and IB.

American Council on Education (ACE) College Credit Recommendation Service

You can transfer credits from ACE transcripts.

Military

You can earn credit for military training and experience by providing transcripts from ACE, CCAF, AART, JST, SMART and the US Coast Guard Institute.

Prior Learning Portfolio

In this 3-credit course, you’ll create a portfolio of supporting documentation that demonstrates learning outcomes so you can gain college credit (no more than 30 credits).
